Three second-half goals have seen Australia end a wonderful year at home with a win as Sam Kerr, Mary Fowler and Tamika Yallop scored in front of a sellout crowd in Perth.

The Matildas will play for a place at Paris 2024 in February with a home and away game against a yet-to-be-decided Asian nation.

“Job done,” Hayley Raso told Channel 10.

“We will just take who we get so I’m not sure of the results from the other games yet so we will see.”

Raso, who will head back to Real Madrid in Spain, said the year has been amazing for the Matildas.

She has Champions League games coming up at Real. And hopefully the Olympics after that.

Still no goals

Credit to Taipei, they are holding solid at the back and forcing the Matildas to try and construct a chance – they are making some tough tackles too.

Fair play to them.

Charlie Grant has added some dash down the right side but no one on the Matildas has come up with a final ball to set up a goal.
